Management
Prepare seedbed well to eliminate low spots
Incorporate nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers to a depth of at least 2 to 4 inches, and do not apply after flooding
Maintain water level at a depth greater than 3 inches
Herbicides, e.g., copper compounds, applied before algal mats float to the water surface
