spaceA computer program, for use on MS-DOS systems, that assists in important management decisions by applying the "expert systems" approach to California rice production. Developed by UC Davis agronomists with support from the California Rice Research Board the program suggests varieties and planting dates for different areas, pinpoints growth stages of the rice plant based on weather, and provides pest, fertilizer, and water management guidelines for growers. CALEX/Rice can also be used for recording field data and producing reports.
